LOOKING BACK - JAN. 17, 2019 - THINK OF MICHAEL'S 1ST TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISER RAISED OVER $85,000!!

OUR 1ST EVER EVENT WAS BOTH SPECIAL AND EMOTIONAL AS AN OVERWHELMING OUTPOURING OF LOVE AND SUPPORT FROM A SOLD OUT VENUE WITH NEARLY 500 OF OUR CLOSEST FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO CAME FROM ALL OVER TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT. THIS REALLY MEANT A LOT TO OUR FAMILY SEEING SO MANY GREAT LIFELONG FRIENDS, WHICH REALLY MADE IT A TRULY MEMORABLE NIGHT AS WELL AS A REMARKABLE SUCCESS!

Richard, Carmela, Stacey and Jamie would like to sincerely thank all who helped us in so many different ways to make this event such a successful and memorable night for all. This also allowed us to begin to do what we set out to do; change and save lives! And we did just that, sending our first recipient to a sober house in Falmouth only 10 days after the fundraiser. We have maintained a great pace of about 2 sober house placements per month. This would not be possible without each of you that continue to give us strength to help get through this most difficult time in our lives as we continue to grow and build upon this emotional journey of helping as many others as possible affected by this awful disease in honor of Michael. There are far too many amazing people to thank individually here, but please know that our family is forever thankful and grateful for each and every person who has shown their love and support to our family in a variety of ways. Also know that we have all read each and every heartfelt card and note you've sent our family. All of your tremendously kind words of encouragement, love and support have sparked lots of tears but also have truly provided us with the extra strength needed to continue to accomplish our goals for Think Of Michael. For this we could not possibly thank you enough. We are extremely grateful for how fortunate and blessed we are to have such wonderful people as friends and family in our corner and on our team!

We do want to extend one very special thank you to our unbelievable and outstanding Think Of Michael Event Committee and to our Board of Directors!

This group of our very closest friends and family all so generously volunteered and sacrificed ENDLESS amounts of their own time doing whatever was needed whenever it was needed and as a group, they all consistently went far above and beyond what was necessary, all to help us throughout this entire emotional first year and making our first Think of Michael event such an enormous success!! We would NEVER have been able to accomplish any of this without their tireless help, support, dedication and most importantly, their true friendship. They define the true meaning of family and friends. They are a very special and amazing group that we as a family can never thank enough in our lifetime. We love each and every one of you and we truly appreciate more than you'll ever know all each of you have done for us. So thank you all so much for all your support, patience, hard work and sacrifices.

This first event was a special way to honor Michael's life and keep his legacy alive by helping others, which was always something he was passionate about. We know Michael's with us on this journey looking down on us, proud of all we've accomplished already and of the work we will continue to do in order to help as many other families as possible in any way we can so they don't have to experience the loss and pain we feel. It is such a widespread and devastating crisis that requires the help and attention of us all to effect real change and finally end the ignorant stigma.
